ICE stands for “In Case of Emergency”. The idea is to make an entry into your cell phone contacts list or phonebook called ICE. Follow that acronym with the name and phone numbers of the person who should be called if something has happened to the owner of the phone. This makes it easier for first responders and medical personnel to contact those people most important to you should an emergency occur.
This was the idea of Bob Brotchie, a British paramedic who works as a clinical team leader the East Anglian Ambulance NHS Trust. He launched this campaign in 2005 and has been accepted throughout many parts of the world.
